Our Mission

Our project, VR’ing Democracy, will harness the power of interactive education through virtual reality to deliver engaging and easily accessible voting education to underrepresented voters. Our virtual reality application project is specifically targeted towards lower-income and marginalized to:

  • Fight off the daunting steps into democratic participation

  • Help each citizen makes informed decisions

  • Alleviate the tech divide

April 2024: Winning Civic Unplugged’s Innovation in Democracy Pitch Contest

August 2024: VR’ing Democracy was presented at CalCenter’s r(E)volution event in Sacramento, CA

September 2024: First Headset Delivered in San Francisco, CA

—— 2024: Macy’s Grant

September 2024: VR’ing Democracy spoke and presented at the Latino Vote Panel with Acción Latino at KALW (public radio station)

September 2024: VR’ing Democracy presented for the Commission of the Status of Women which led to approval by the Department of Elections. The headset was also set up in San Francisco (SF) City Hall.

September 2024: Presentation and demonstration of headset at the Youth Civic Engagement Forum at SF City Hall and the National Council of Negro Women

February 2025: Demonstration and presentation of headset during the KALW Public Media event

February 2025: Virtual presentation of headset at HERGOV event

March 2025: Presentation at STAND UP! SPEAK OUT! statewide conference at UC Davis

July 15 2025: VRD Demo at Stanford University in partnership with SDDL

Empowering Voters Through Virtual Reality

We will partner with nonprofit organizations related to our mission of expanding democratic participation & organizations targeting underrepresented communities, utilize crowdfunding and business sponsorships to get VR products in low-income community libraries, and organize public events with VR technology in marginalized communities
